To me, a Frankfurt kitchen is the quintessential 1920s kitchen and what we modeled our kitchen after: highly pragmatic, very efficient, and cook-focused. What I wouldn't give for closed concept. Or if I want "pretty" I'll build out a "normal" kitchen that looks nice but is effectively for finishing while my actual kitchen connected with a passthrough to the show kitchen. My last kitchen shoes were keens. I was pretty disappointed after a few months. In the civilian world I wear pretty much keen Newport 2 hiking sandals 99% of the time, they have been my favorite shoes for about 15 years. I figured the kitchen shoes would be equally comfortable. They were not. The insoles wore out within the first few months.
